TripSanity › Features
Everything TripSanity does
The homepage tells the story. This is the reference: one line per feature, grouped by the moment you'd use it. A feature is free unless it carries a Pro tag, and Organizer marks the tools only the person running the trip uses.
Build the plan
The organizer's side. Most trips start from something that already exists: an email thread, a doc, a spreadsheet.
A new trip in three steps Organizer
Name the trip and its dates, set the guest password, pick the look. The trip opens with one empty day per date, and you choose how to fill it: paste what you have, type it in, or start from a template.
A map of the three steps and of what's free and what's Pro opens on top of the wizard the first time; the ? in its header brings it back.
AI import Organizer
Paste the mess you already have (an email thread, a notes-app list, a travel agent's itinerary) or add files: screenshots, PDF confirmations, Excel workbooks and CSVs. A Google Doc or Sheet link works too. It comes back as days and stops for you to review before anything is saved. On a phone the paste box is right on the trip page: an empty trip opens on it, no editor needed.
One AI import per trip on Free, unlimited on Pro (fair-use limits apply). An import that fails doesn't count.
See your plan as a trip before you sign up Organizer
On the homepage, paste the plan you already have — the confirmation emails, a doc, a text thread, a Google Doc link — and the phone on the page shows it as the trip your group would open: days, stops, flights, confirmation numbers. No account, no email. Tap Save and the same result becomes your trip once you've signed in; nothing is parsed twice and the trip's free AI import stays unspent.
Text only, and a few previews per connection per day; files, screenshots and the questions the importer asks about ambiguous lines come once you're in.
It asks instead of guessing Organizer
When something in your paste is ambiguous, the importer asks, with two to four ways to use the item or the choice to leave it out. One review screen then lets you pick which days to bring in and whether to add them after your existing days, fill your days by date, or replace everything.
Spreadsheet upload Organizer
Upload a CSV with as little as a title and a day or date per row. Time, address, notes, what to wear, confirmation numbers and flight numbers each have a column, and there is a template to download.
Always free, and it never uses an AI import.
21 ready-made itineraries Organizer
Start from a complete plan (city trips for families, bachelorette and group weekends, reunions, a golf trip, a company retreat, a destination wedding) in one tap. The days are dated from your start date, and it doesn't use an AI import.
Editor with a live phone preview Organizer
Edit days, stops, home bases and extras with the guest view beside the form. Changes save as a draft on their own, and nothing reaches your guests until you tap Publish.
Stops that carry everything Organizer
Each stop can hold a time, an address, a travel hint, a note, a what-to-wear tip, a link, a booking status, a confirmation number and a flight number.
Backup plans Organizer
Give any day a list of alternates. Guests see them under that day as "Backups & audibles", ready for the rain day or the nap that ran long.
AI packing list OrganizerPro
A packing checklist built from your destination, dates, who's going and every stop on the plan, plus the forecast. You pick which items to keep.
Styles, colors and the emoji strip Organizer
Seven styles — Liquid Glass by default, or Soft Modern, Boarding Pass, Field Guide, After Dark, Call Sheet, Postcard — eight color palettes — or colors matched to your header photo — and a trip emoji. Each guest can switch the style on their own phone unless you lock it.
Your logo in the header OrganizerPro
Replace the emoji strip under the title with your logo: a company retreat, a crew, a club. Upload a PNG or SVG and it is trimmed and sized for the header.
Your photo in the trip header OrganizerPro
Put the group's photo behind the trip title. You frame it against the real header before it goes up, and its location data is stripped on the way. Then match the trip's colors to it: the header, chips and buttons pick up the photo's own colors, kept readable. Change the photo, its colors or both from the trip page itself (Photo, at the top) — no editor needed.
Get everyone in
Only the organizer has an account. Everyone else gets a link.
One link, no app, no guest accounts Everyone
Guests open the link in the browser they already have, type the trip password and a name, and pick an emoji. No download, no sign-up, no email address. Someone who only wants to look can come in without a name.
Unlimited guests Everyone
There is no guest cap on any plan, and a guest never pays or hits a paywall. Four people or forty, it's the same link.
Trip password with a hint Organizer
One password for the whole group, with an optional hint on the join screen. The invite link can carry the password, so it opens in one tap. Repeated wrong guesses lock joining for 15 minutes.
Invite link, message and QR code Organizer
Copy the link on its own or with the password, send a ready-written invite message, or show a QR code for the room to scan. On the phone, Invite people sits in the Organizer menu at the top of the trip page — it opens your phone's share sheet with the message ready.
The link looks like an invitation Everyone
Texted to the group, the link shows up with the trip's name and dates. The preview never includes the destination, the people or the password hint.
Short custom link OrganizerPro
Give the trip a link people can read out loud, like tripsanityapp.com/t/lake-weekend. Change it any time: phones that already opened the old link keep getting in, and the editor asks before you change one your group already has.
Co-organizers Organizer
Send one invite link to a spouse, the other family or the best man, and they can edit the plan and send alerts too. The link expires in 14 days, works for up to 10 people and can be turned off at any time. Co-organizers can't delete the trip, change its password or take it over.
Add it to the home screen Everyone
Added from the phone's browser, the trip gets its own icon with its name underneath and opens straight into the plan. Organizers land already signed in.
A tour and per-phone settings Everyone
The first time someone joins, a short tour points at the real controls. Each phone picks its own Maps app (Google or Apple), text size (three sizes) and style.
The day, live
What the group sees once the trip is under way.
Today first, with what's next Everyone
The plan is one tab per day, and the stop that's coming up is marked NEXT UP. Nobody scrolls a document to find this afternoon. NEXT UP follows the clock: it points at what is coming up now, even if nobody checked off the morning.
Shared check-offs Everyone
Anyone can check a stop off, and every phone sees it along with who tapped it. Each day shows its progress, with confetti when the last stop is done.
Changes reach every phone Everyone
When the organizer edits a stop and publishes, open phones pick it up within about a minute. No reload, no re-sent PDF.
A glow on what changed Everyone
A tab glows orange when something in it changed since that phone last looked: a new or updated stop, a Trip Info edit, a post or an expense from someone else.
One tap to Maps or a ride Everyone
Every stop with an address opens in the phone's Maps app, or in Uber or Lyft, with no address to retype.
Weather for each day Everyone
A forecast strip across the top of the trip, by city on a multi-stop trip. Tap a day for a plain-English summary and the hour-by-hour.
What to wear, per stop Everyone
The organizer's attire tip for a stop, shown next to that day's forecast: layers for the boat, closed shoes for the hike.
Notes on any stop Everyone
Leave the door code or the table number on the stop where the group will look for it. A note can be shared with the trip or kept as "Just me", which never leaves your phone.
Anyone can add a stop Everyone
A guest who finds the ice-cream place can add it to the day, and the whole trip sees it.
Flights on the day they fly Everyone
A flight number on a stop turns it into a boarding pass in that day's plan — typing it into the stop's title ("Fly DL 2432 → Boston") is enough. Anyone in the group can add their own flight, and each one has a Track link that opens it on FlightAware.
Live flight status and delay alerts EveryonePro
From two days out, every tracked flight shows its live status on the card: on time, delayed and by how much, in the air with its landing time, landed, cancelled or diverted, with the departure terminal and gate, the arrival gate and the baggage carousel once the airline publishes them. Phones that turned alerts on hear about a delay of 15 minutes or more, a gate change, take-off, landing, a cancellation or a diversion. Each flight card has a Get delay alerts button; on an iPhone it shows the Home Screen step first.
Status comes from FlightAware and is shared by everyone tracking that flight. The Track link to FlightAware's own page is on every flight, on every plan.
Rearrange from your phone Organizer
On the trip page itself, press and hold a stop to drag it earlier or later, or tap Change day to move it to another day. There's an Undo, and the group's phones follow.
Edit the plan without the editor Organizer
On the trip page, tap Edit on any stop to change its time, name, place, note, status, confirmation number or flight, or delete it (with an Undo). Add a stop to any day, or the first one to a brand-new trip, and rename a day. On a phone, a new trip opens right there instead of in the editor.
Changes go live for everyone at once, and any unpublished edits waiting in the editor keep them too.
Arrange Trip Info Organizer
Press and hold a card on the Trip Info tab to drag it up or down: the Wi‑Fi above the house rules, the PDF button up top. The order saves for the whole group.
Splash announcements Organizer
A message that takes over every guest's screen once, the next time they open the trip: "Boat moved to Thursday, same dock."
Push alerts Organizer
Send "Lobby in ten" as a notification to every phone that turned alerts on. Guests opt in with a bell on the trip — the same bell that carries chat pings and flight changes.
On an iPhone the trip has to be on the home screen first; Apple only delivers web notifications to installed apps.
Trip Info
The reference tab: everything people would otherwise ask the organizer for.
Home base and "Take me home" Everyone
The rental's address with a copy button, and a Take me home button that hands any driver the right address. A trip with several stays switches home base on the right day, and a household staying somewhere else can pick its own.
Reservations at a glance Everyone
Every booking in one list with its status and confirmation number. Tap the number to copy it at the front desk.
Wi-Fi card Everyone
The network and password get their own card. Connect copies the password and walks the person through Settings, and a QR code lets the rest of the room join.
Codes, parking and house rules Everyone
Free-form sections for the things you would otherwise text thirty times: door and gate codes, where to park, checkout rules.
Who to call Everyone
A contacts card with tap-to-call and tap-to-text: the organizer, the property manager, the shuttle.
Ride credit Everyone
Paying for the group's rides? Paste an Uber event voucher or a Lyft Pass link once. Each guest claims it in their own ride app, and it applies at checkout from then on.
What's nearby EveryonePro
The closest groceries, pharmacies and convenience stores, and places to eat around each home base, nearest first, with a walk or drive estimate and Maps and ride buttons. The organizer looks it up once and it is saved with the trip, so it works offline and prints in the PDF.
Place data comes from OpenStreetMap. · See it in the live demo →
Find each other
For the zoo, the airport and the ballgame where half the group wants hot dogs.
Where-is-everyone map Everyone
Anyone who turns on sharing shows up as a live pin with the emoji they picked. Sharing is opt-in per person and only for this trip.
Location that stops when you do Everyone
A pin only moves while the trip is open on that phone. Close it and the last spot stays on the map, marked with how long ago, for up to 24 hours. Pause takes the pin off the map right away, and the organizer can remove any pin.
Chat and photos
One place for the trip's photos instead of five group chats. The organizer can switch it off for a trip that doesn't want it.
Trip chat Everyone
Anyone on the trip can post, with the same link and still no account. Posts and photos are kept for as long as the trip exists.
Photo posts Everyone
Up to six photos and a caption in one post. Photos show as Polaroids, and the one you just posted develops in.
A ping for every post Everyone
Phones that turned alerts on get a notification when someone posts a message or a photo: who posted and the first line, and a tap opens the chat. Three photos in one post is one ping, and nobody is pinged by their own post.
On by default. An organizer who wants alerts kept for announcements only can switch chat pings off in the editor.
Filters and "Save all photos" Everyone
Show everything, only photos or only stop notes, and download every photo from the trip in one go.
Money
A shared ledger inside the trip. It works out who owes whom; the payment itself happens in your own app.
Shared expense ledger Everyone
Log what things cost and who paid, and the settle-up does itself: a short list of who owes whom. Guests add expenses with no account, and whoever added one (or an organizer) can edit or delete it. Everyone who joins with their name is already on the list, so a split between everyone really is everyone.
Free on every trip, with no daily limit, and on from the start on every new trip (switch it off in the editor if you won't use it). A trip holds up to 2,000 entries. · See it in the live demo →
Three ways to split Everyone
Evenly, by shares (a family of four counts as 4, a couple as 2) or by exact amounts, between everyone or only the people who were there.
People who never open the link Everyone
People in the ledger are names, not accounts. Grandma can be included in a split and paid back without ever opening the trip.
Venmo, Cash App, PayPal and Zelle buttons Everyone
Add your handle once and whoever owes you gets a button that opens the app with the amount filled in. Zelle has no link to open, so its button copies where to send and shows the steps for your bank's app. Mark paid records it and takes it off the list.
Ask and the phrasebook
Guests ask the trip instead of asking the organizer.
Ask your trip Everyone
"What time is dinner and how do we get there?" It answers from your actual itinerary: the time, the address, the booking status, what to wear. It can also search the web for places near you and offer them as stops to add to the day.
Fair-use limits apply per trip. The trip password and your contacts are never sent to the AI.
What's the move? Everyone
One tap on today's tab and nothing to type. It reads the time, the weather and what's left of the day, and suggests what to do now.
Heads-up Everyone
The trip speaks first, at most once a day, and only for two things: rain before an upcoming stop, or a booked stop coming up within 45 minutes.
Phrasebooks in eight languages Everyone
Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese for Portugal and for Brazil, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese, each with more than 1,000 everyday phrases. The trip picks the book from where you're going. Search it, tap to hear a phrase out loud, show it full-screen to a waiter or driver, and save the ones you use.
Works with no signal, and "how do I say..." is answered straight from the book.
No signal
For the plane, the mountains and the boat.
The plan opens without a connection Everyone
Once a phone has opened the trip, it keeps the latest copy of the plan. With no signal the page still opens, says it's showing the saved copy, and catches up when you're back in range.
Save a PDF copy Everyone
Anyone can save the whole trip as a PDF: every day, address and code, and the Wi-Fi. It opens anywhere and prints clean.
After the trip
What's left when everyone is home.
The recap Everyone
A Wrapped-style story built from the trip itself: the check-offs, the stats, favorite moments and the photos everyone posted. Tap through it on the flight home, or send it to the grandparents who stayed back.
Archive or delete Organizer
Archiving closes a trip to guests and keeps everything in it. Deleting is permanent, and asks you to type the trip's name first.
The organizer's desk
Where the person running the trip keeps track of it.
Sign in with an emailed code Organizer
A six-digit code by email. There is no password to invent, and none to forget before the next trip.
Code didn't come, or a typo in the address? Send a new one (once a minute) or fix the email from the code screen.
My trips Organizer
Upcoming, past and archived trips, each as a card with Open, Edit, Invite and Group.
No cap on how many trips an account holds, past and archived ones included.
How the group is doing OrganizerPro
For each trip: who has joined, who is sharing location, how many posts, how much of the plan is checked off, and a plain-language nudge when something is stuck, such as people opening the link but not getting past the password.
Feature news by email, only if you ask Organizer
Tick a box at sign-in, answer once when your first plan goes live, or use the switch on My trips to hear when something new ships — a short email now and then. It's off unless you turn it on, one tap turns it off again, and every email carries an unsubscribe link. Guests are never emailed.
Sign-in codes and anything about your own trips aren't marketing and don't depend on this.
Free and Pro
Everything a guest touches is free on every trip: check-offs, weather, the map, chat and photos, money, alerts, Ask, the phrasebook, the offline copy and the recap. Pro is bought once for one trip. It is not a subscription and not per person.

An active trip is one whose last day hasn't passed. A Pro trip stays Pro for the life of that trip. Pricing on the homepage has the fine print.
What TripSanity doesn't do
A feature list is only useful if it also says where the edges are. The comparison pages say which tool to use instead.
- No App Store or Google Play app. TripSanity is a web app on purpose: a link opens in any phone browser.
- It doesn't book anything or read your inbox. There's no flight or hotel booking and no email-forwarding import. You paste or upload what you already have.
- It isn't a map-first planner. There's no route optimization and no pin-collecting research board. It is built for running the trip, not for choosing where to go.
- It doesn't move money. The ledger says who owes whom and opens Venmo, Cash App or PayPal, or shows where to send a Zelle. It doesn't convert currencies, split by percentage, take more than one payer per expense, or scan receipts.
- No voting, registration or ticketing. There are no polls for deciding the trip, and no sign-up forms, badges or sponsor pages for a conference.
See it instead of reading about it
The live demo is a real trip page, set so today is day two. No email and nothing to install.
TripSanity, LLC makes TripSanity and publishes this page. It lists what is live for every trip as of October 2026; anything still being built is left off until it ships.
